ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed has urged all the political forces to rally behind the armed forces for the success of military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against militants in the North Waziristan tribal region.

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad, he said that the operation is actually the war of security of our country. He said that no political party should indulge in street politics as such actions would provide strategic support to terrorists.

The minister said that our valiant armed forces have the full capacity to defend the motherland and defeat its enemies.

Zarb-i-Azb operation: 232 militants killed, 20 hideouts destroyed so far

At least 232 militants have been killed while 20 militant hideouts have been destroyed so far in the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan.

During the operation, eight security personnel have also been killed while seven others have sustained injuries. Moreover, two major terrorist communication centers located on the hills and a bomb-making factory have also been destroyed.
