ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov will pay an official visit to Pakistan on November 1, 2018 along with a five-member delegation.

This will be the Uzbek foreign minister’s second visit to Pakistan this year.

The Uzbek foreign minister will have a one to one meeting with his Pakistani Counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad followed by delegation-level talks.

Abdulaziz Kamilov will also call on the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.

“Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy a close and cordial relationship founded in mutual trust and understanding and augmented by strong cultural and religious affinities. Bilateral collaboration in different sectors has been growing steadily,” said a press release issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad.

It said that the visit of the Uzbek foreign minister will contribute to increased mutual cooperation on the bilateral and regional fronts.

It would also reinforce Pakistan’s endeavours to deepen its engagement with Uzbekistan and build a strategic partnership with the Country.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Uzbek ambassador to Pakistan Furqat A. Sidikov met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad and discussed bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest.
