The two most important events of Muslims—Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha (Eid al-Adha) have been recognized as State Holidays and State events. The corresponding decree will soon be signed by President Vladimir Zelensky
President Vladimir Zelensky on Monday, May 18, 2020, in a meeting with representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, announced these significant developments. President announced the induction of Tatar Muslim Emina Dzhaparova as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“The President emphasized that the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people should be represented at the highest diplomatic level. Therefore, the head of state agreed on the candidacy of the statement said after a meeting with the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people,” said the press service of the President’s Office.
President Vladimir Zelensky expressed condolences on the occasion of the Day of
Remembrance of the Victims of the Crimean Tatar People’s Genocide.
In order to solve problematic issues of the Crimean Tatar people, Zelensky initiated the creation of a working group in the President’s Office, which will include Crimean Tatars.
He also said that as a result of agreements with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, 500 apartments for immigrants from the Crimea will be built in the Kherson region. In addition, a new large mosque is planned to be built in Kyiv.
He also once again announced the construction of a hub on the border of the Kherson region and Crimea.
The President emphasized that the working group should consider not only legal but also economic issues that concern Crimean Tatars.
