ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led federal government has distanced itself from the pictures floating on social media being described as of Corona Relief Tigers Force whose registration recently kicked off under the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In a Clarification on Twitter on Friday, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar said that these pictures have nothing to do with the Tigers Force.

Usman Dar said that neither any shirts are being printed at the government level nor the ongoing circumstances allow such initiatives.

The Special Assistant said that the Corona Relief Tigers Force is above any political affiliation. He said that the force doesn’t represent any specific political party; rather, it is of the whole Country.

Usman Dar appealed the social media users to not to make it controversial and utilize their energies in a positive manner so that the Coronavirus outbreak could be halted.

Since Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the formation of Corona Relief Tigers Force of volunteers to help the authorities carry out the relief activities throughout the Country, the opposition parties as well as their supporters on social media termed it a political stunt and lambasted the federal government for allegedly spending the exchequer’s money to promote its own vested interest.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique also earlier in the day tweeted that the government blatantly failed to provide protective kits to doctors and medical practitioners who are in the frontline in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic but it is getting Corona Relief Tigers Force Shirts manufactured on taxpayers’ money.
