ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad administration has lifted the ban imposed on Outpatient Departments (OPDs) in all hospitals of the Federal Capital, keeping in view the difficulties faced by the general public and patients in getting medical assistance.
In this regard, a notification has been issued on Thursday by the Islamabad District Magistrate Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat.
The OPDs in all hospitals of Islamabad were shut down on March 24 in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak.
However notifying the lifting of the ban imposed on OPDs in all hospital in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) immediately today, the District Magistrate said that the hospital management shall strictly abide by the notified SOP dated March 24, 2020 and other instructions issued subsequently from time to time regarding compulsory precautions, restrictions and directions for social distancing.
Furthermore, the guidelines regarding disinfection, sanitization and hygiene would be ensured in OPDs.
Meanwhile, the Coronavirus-affected Bhara Kahu and Shahzad Town areas of the ICT have also been de-sealed today after the situation arising out of the virus outbreak in both these areas was substantially improved.
The number of Confirmed Coronavirus Cases in the Federal Capital has now climbed to 102. One female patient, who had returned from the United Kingdom and was on the ventilator for weeks, breathed her last two days ago in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) while 10 infected persons have now been recovered.
