Earlier in view of the exponential increase in Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cases, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration sealed I-10/1 and I-10/4 Sectors in the Federal Capital on April 30.
“On the recommendations of District Health Office vide U.O. No 4(13)-Health/ICT/84 dated 29-04-2020 and recent confirmed reports of individuals infected with Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) residing in Sector I-10/1 and Sector I-10/4, Islamabad is hereby sealed forth exercise of powers conferred under Epidemic Disease Act (1958), in larger public interest and to prevent wide spread outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19),” said the notification issued by the District Magistrate Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat.
The Islamabad Police, Rangers, and Pakistan Army were asked to cordon off the I-10/1 and I-10/4 Sectors to ensure public safety.
By and large, 313 COVID-19 Cases including 16 on April 29 have emerged in the ICT and four of the patients have passed away.
Hamza Shafqaat told that in the last 48 hours, 52 new Cases were detected in Islamabad and out of them, 11 were in I-10 Sector.

Prior to it, the ICT’s Bhara Kahu, Shahzad Town, and Rimsha Colony areas were also sealed to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19. While the area adjoining Taramri Chowk yet remains sealed.
