KABUL, Afghanistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan-China-Afghanistan trilateral dialogue forum will prove useful for peace and stability in the region and social development.

In a meeting with the Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul on Saturday, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan will continue playing its positive and constructive role in reconciliatory process in Afghanistan.

   

The foreign minister said that peace in Afghanistan is important not only for Pakistan and Afghanistan but it will have impact on the entire region. He said that both the Countries have been dealing with the menace of terrorism for over 40 years.

The Afghan Chief Executive hailed Pakistan’s role in reconciliation process in Afghanistan. He expressed hope that the bilateral relations will touch new heights during the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The meeting took place in Kabul on the sidelines of Pakistan-China-Afghanistan trilateral dialogue in which foreign ministers of three Countries discussed mutual cooperation and peace efforts.

The trilateral dialogue among the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the Afghan Foreign Minister Syed Salahuddin Rabbani concluded with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) vis-a-vis anti-terrorism cooperation.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also held separate meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and his Afghan Counterpart in Kabul today and discussed improvement in bilateral relations and important issues of mutual and regional interest.
