The Rawalpindi administration has issued the traffic plan for the 12th Rabiul Awwal to be celebrated across the Country on November 21 to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Traffic Plan for 12th Rabiul Awwal

As per the traffic plan, the main procession of Eid Miladun Nabi on 12th Rabiul Awwal will be taken out from Jamia Masjid Hanfia wherein the Central Reception Camp will also be set up.

The procession will pass through Jamia Masjid Road, Bani Chowk, Circular Road, Murree Road, Committee Chowk, Iqbal Road, Liaquat Market, Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazaar, Dungi Khoi, Bansawala Chowk, and then it would move towards the Jamia Masjid Road.

Prohibited areas

Meanwhile, all roads approaching the Fawara Chowk including Liaquat Road, Iqbal Road, Raja Bazaar, Ganjmandi Road, Kashmir Bazaar and City Saddar Road, Bani Chowk, Jamia Masjid Road, Dungi Koi, Purana Qila, Bhabra Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Alam Khan Road, Iqbal Road, and China Market will remain closed for all kinds of traffic.

While during the procession, Murree Road (from Marir Chowk to Chandni Chowk) will also remain closed for all kinds of traffic.

Alternative routes

For traffic moving towards Rawalpindi from Islamabad, Rawal Road, Airport Road and Tipu Road will be opened.

Traffic moving towards Islamabad from Rawalpindi will be diverted from Marir Chowk towards Airport Road, and then from Rawal Road to Chandni Chowk.

Traffic coming from Islamabad via Murree Road will be diverted from Chandni Chowk Flyover towards Rawal Road.

Traffic moving towards Fawara Chowk from Liaquat Bagh will be diverted towards Gawalmandi from DAV College Chowk.
