ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that mobile phone service in Islamabad will not be suspended on Eid ul Fitr. However‚ he said the provincial governments can suspend the cellular services according to their security requirements.

In a meeting of senior police officers in Islamabad with the Interior Minister in the chair‚ police was given instructions to improve security in the capital and directed to remove unnecessary check posts in the capital.

The Interior Minister assured that all possible steps would be taken to equip Islamabad police with modern weapons.

Nisar said that police should remain vigilant at all times and formulate a concrete security plan with an emphasis on effective communication between all vintage points.
