PESHAWAR: Ashiqullah Mehsud of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been killed in Mir Ali North Waziristan. He was appointed as deputy to deceased Hakimullah Mehsud in 2011 and he was with Hakimullah Mehsud when Hakimullah killed Col (r) Sultan Amir Tarar known as Col Imam. Video of killing of Col Imam.
Ashiqullah Mehsud was an important commander and a suicide jackets expert of the banned TTP. Intelligence sources confirmed that Ashiqullah Mehsud was killed in a firing incident in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan tribal region. The attackers fled in their car after killing Ashiqullah Mehsud. This killing looks like the result of on-going power tussle between Shehryar Mehsud and Khan Said Sajna groups. The latter also parted ways with the central TTP group.
