PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A pro-government tribal elder survived a bomb blast which hit his vehicle in Bajaur agency on Monday, according to security sources.
However, his driver was killed while four other persons were injured in the blast which took place in Bajaur’s Khar tehsil.
The security sources said that the tribal elder was on the way from Salarzai area to Khar in his vehicle but in the meantime, an improvised explosive device (IED) which was planted along the roadside struck his vehicle.
Resultantly, his driver lost his life while four persons sustained injuries. However, the tribal elder didn’t suffer any injury.
The injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital for being provided medical treatment.
Last week, a pro-government tribal elder Malik Rahim was killed when an IED went off in Chamarkand area of Bajaur agency. Later, the outlawed terror group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed the responsibility for the killing the tribal elder.
