Regional TerrorismPTI Chairman says whole nation stands by Christian community

PESHAWAR: PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said in the statement while speaking to media persons at Lady Reading Hospital on Sunday that the whole nation is standing by the Christian community in the wake of a terrorist attack on a Church in Peshawar.

Khan said that Pakistan had two options either to go into war with militants or hold peace talks. “As a nation, we should demonstrate unity to deal with the alarming situation,” he added.

To a question, he said that he can’t say whether it was an attempt to sabotage peace talks. But he pointed out that whenever any peace initiative is taken; such attacks are carried out in the country.

He said that decision to hold talks with militants was taken unanimously in the all-party conference (APC).  “It is the desire of every person to restore peace in Pakistan.”

The previous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government tried to give the attack a political colour, he said, adding that 210 attacks had taken place in the province during the previous regime.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister said that affected families would be given financial compensation.
