SocialHindu Nationalist Party Against Pathaan Movie Release In India

Since the very beginning of its announcement, the Pathaan movie is in hot waters in India. For their recent project, things have been getting turbulent for the actors, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Hindu Nationalist Group, Bajrang Dal is enraged at the movie and causing protests and disturbance upon its release. Recently, Bajrang Dal members destroyed the posters of the Pathaan movie outside a cinema and threatened to ban the screening of the film.

A video went viral from Ahmedabad, Gujrat. The members of the Hindu Nationalist Party, Bajrang Dal, can be seen in the multiplex area of Alpha One Mall. They are tearing and destroying the movie posters and cutouts of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Along with destroying the posters, they also threatened the multiplex staff to stop screening the Pathaan movie. Check out the chaos caused by Bajrang Dal members.

As soon as the name of the movie came out, it became a victim of criticism even though the Nationalists knew nothing about the storyline. The name ‘Pathaan’ was controversial in an anti-Muslim country like India which triggered many nationalist groups. The release of the bold song, Besharam Rang by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone from Pathan movie has caused another wave of trouble for the actors.

In the musical video, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are dancing alongside the beach in Europe. Padukone is dancing in her own trance and showing off some sensual moves. She is also wearing an ‘objectionable’ costume. Deepika is unveiling her hot body in a bright orange bikini which caused the nationalists to object. Here’s the song video.

Amendments in Pathaan Movie

Political leader, Narrotam Mishra of BJP objected to the content of the song as well as the costume. India’s Central Board of Film Certification suggested the filmmakers make some changes to the movie. They asked the makers to implement changes and submit a revised version to get the certification.

CBFC has made some changes to the song video. Firstly, they have eliminated the close-up shots that show Deepika’s body, causing nudity. Secondly, they have also advised changing some sensual dance moves. Lastly, some amendments are made to the lyrics as well.

After all these changes, the Pathan movie got the certification of release in theatres on 25 January. But, the Bajrang Dal Nationalist Party still find it controversial and continues to protest and disrupt the release.
