LONDON: The second round of bilateral consultations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom on arms control‚ non-proliferation and disarmament were held in London.
Pakistan’s delegation at the talks was headed by Additional Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry while the British side was led by Director of Defence and International Security Ms. Sarah MacIntosh.
Foreign Office spokesman said that the talks were held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere and both sides discussed a broad range of issues related to international arms control‚ non-proliferation and disarmament.
Besides peaceful uses of nuclear technology‚ regional security and strategic stability also came under discussion.
The spokesman said that the talks were substantive and both sides agreed to remain constructively engaged.
The UK side accepted Pakistan’s invitation to visit Islamabad for the next round of consultations in 2014.
