PESHAWAR, Pakistan: At least nine persons including six security personnel were killed in separate terrorism-related incidents in northwestern parts of the country on Tuesday.
In the first incident, a landmine explosion took place near a vehicle of the security forces in the Kurram tribal region on Tuesday that left at least four security personnel dead.
The vehicle of the security forces was also destroyed in the incident that occurred in Warmagai area of Kurram agency, one of seven districts in Pakistan’s semi-autonomous tribal region near the Afghan border.
Two more security personnel were killed while two others sustained injuries when a remote controlled device went off near their van in Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Likewise, three volunteers of local peace committee were killed and another sustained injuries in a bomb blast that took place in Tirah valley of Khyber agency.
The peace committee volunteers were patrolling the area when the explosion took place.
