ISLAMABAD:  Interior Minister Rehman Malik has asked Punjab government to take action against Lashkari Jangavi (LJ), saying that he will prove that the militant group is involved in bomb blasts and target killings in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Wednesday.

Talking to media persons, Malik said that it is proved that Lashkari Jangavi and the Taliban have links with each other.

The Interior Minister said Punjab government never requested for putting the name of Ishaq Malik on ECL, adding the provinces which requested for putting up the name of anyone on ECL lists, the federal government did so.

Malik said LJ chief is involved in thirty two criminal cases. He said Punjab police is providing protection to Ishaq Malik and he is continuing his activities from Punjab province.

Referring to the dialogue offer by the Taliban, Rehman Malik said that Taliban should bring forward reasonable people for the talks. He said the backbone of the Taliban has been broken. We will eliminate terrorism at all costs from the country.
