KARACHI: Personnel from sensitive agencies and Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police conducted a joint operation in the city area of Manghopir and arrested a terrorist in the action on Wednesday.

The personnel of law-enforcement agencies met resistance from the terrorists who opened gunfire at the security men. A terrorist, who was wounded in the operation, has been arrested following the encounter in Manghopir area of Sultanabad.

A Kalashnikov and two hand grenades were recovered from the arrested saboteur. The terrorist, Hazrat Ali succumbed to his injuries. His body has been shifted to Civil Hospital for medico-legal proceedings.

Speaking to Media, CID official Chaudhry Aslam said the action was undertaken after the police was tipped off about a major sabotage activity being planned by the terrorists.
