HANGU: Case regarding the murder of Farid Khan, a newly elected MPA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, has been registered 30 hours after his assassination.

The case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Farid Khan’s murder was lodged at City Police Station against former MPA of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Atiqur Rehman, his brother Shafiqur Rehman and their uncle.

Deputy commissioner sat in several meetings with tribal veterans for the restoration of law and order amidst the daylong curfew in the city.

Meantime, the death toll in the turbulence that erupted in the wake of the MPA’s killing, mounted to six as four bodies were recovered from the house of an extremist commander Asif. The deceased have been identified as Asif’s mother, father and two brothers. According to police sources, the infuriated people killed them at their house during riots on Monday.

Extremist Asif is wanted by police n different incidents of targeted killing.

The funeral prayer for the eternal peace of the deceased was offered yesterday at 10am in Darwezi Palwasa. The local veterans, party leaders and workers attended the funeral in large number. Some workers lost control on the occasion; however, the leaders advised them to be patient.

Meantime, the JUI, condemning Farid Khan’s killing, said the assassins have nothing to do with the party. The local tribesmen demanded the early arrest of the killers.
