12 more militants killed in Tirah Valley airstrikes

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: As many as 44 terrorists were killed in precise aerial strikes conducted in North Waziristan and Khyber agencies on Saturday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the ISPR said that 16 terrorists mostly foreigners were killed in area ahead of Datta Khel in North Waziristan agency and 28 others killed in Tirah Valley of Khyber agency.

“44 terrorists were killed precise aerial strikes in North Waziristan and Khyber agencies today. According to details out of 44 killed, 16 (Mostly foreigners) were killed in area ahead of Datta Khel in NWA and 28 terrorists killed in Tirah Khyber,” the ISPR said in its press release issued on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited Mir Ali area of North Waziristan agency to review the operation Zarb-e-Azb and return of the displaced families to their homes.

The prime minister also visited Peshawar and while speaking at a function in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital, he said that sanctuaries of terrorists in North Waziristan have been destroyed as a result of ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Sharif said that Pakistan has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said that thousands of personnel of the armed forces, innocent civilian people and even political figures have sacrificed their lives for the sake of establishing peace in the country.
