SportsStar Sports India vs New Zealand Third T20 at Hamilton

What else India would wish for if they register another series victory on Sunday against New Zealand, that would also be, if it happens, their 11th straight T20 series win.

India leveled the three-match bilateral T20I series against New Zealand on Friday, when they chased a moderate target of 159 runs easily on a batting-friendly surface at Auckland.

The 3rd T20I would take place at Seddon Park in Hamilton wherein the average first innings score in last five T20Is remained 185. Therefore, another high scoring game seems to be around the corner. It’s also worth noting that chasing team has won three out of last five T20Is at Hamilton.

It would be India’s first T20I at Hamilton but New Zealand have already been there 8 times. Out of those, New Zealand won 6 T20Is and lost 2.

Interestingly, India have never lost the third match of a bilateral T20I series.

For the last T20I, India may stick to the same side which they had in the 2nd T20I. But still they may try Kuldeep Yadav, who has yet to make his appearance in the ongoing series.

Earlier India’s victory on last Friday was their 1st ever T20I win in New Zealand. It was also their 70th T20I victory overall and only 3rd against New Zealand.

Unlike the first T20I at Wellington on February 6, Indian bowlers did exceptionally well in the 2nd T20I and restricted New Zealand to just 158 runs for 8 in 20 overs. The Captain Rohit Sharma also did justice to his responsibilities and scored 50 runs with 4 sixes.

Rohit Sharma requires just 2 more sixes to claim the record of hitting the most number of sixes in T20Is. He has so far hit 102 sixes in T20Is. Only West Indies’ Chris Gayle and New Zealand’s Martin Guptill are ahead of him, both of them have hit 103 sixes each.
