The Second ODI between India and New Zealand will take place at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Saturday.

Virat Kohli-led India has already sealed a lead 1-0 in the five-match ODI series.

The second match will begin at 07:30 am as per Indian Standard Time (IST).

India may opt not to reshuffle its combination before the fourth ODI when Virat Kohli will go on rest for last two games. The all-rounder Hardik Pandya would have also joined the team by then.

In recent times, New Zealand has struggled against India. Out of last five ODIs between them, New Zealand lost four.

Likewise, New Zealand’s ODI record at the Bay Oval hasn’t been that impressive especially being a Host Country. New Zealand has previously faced South Africa, Sri Lanka and England in six ODIs at the venue and yielded half of results in its favour.

The Third ODI between India and New Zealand will also be played at the Bay Oval.

It’s the eighth bilateral ODI series being held in New Zealand. In the past, India managed to secure a series victory just once in March 2009 under the leadership of MS Dhoni while drew the series twice in March/April 1994 and January 1999.

Earlier in the first ODI at Napier on Wednesday, India clinched a comprehensive eight-wicket victory against New Zealand.

While batting first, New Zealand was bowled out for 157. Kuldeep Yadav took four and Mohammed Shami took three wickets.

In reply, India reached the target in 34.5 overs with eight wickets still in hands. Shikhar Dhawan with unbeaten 75 runs remained the top scorer for India.
