SOCHI: China’s Hong Zhang won the gold medal in the women’s 1,000 meter event on Thursday at the Adler Arena during the Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
The Chinese speed skater clocked a time of 1:14.02 minutes to claim the gold medal, while Dutch speed skater Irene Wust bagged silver with a time of 1:14.69 minutes.
The bronze medal went to another Dutch, Margot Boer, who clocked a time of 1:14.90 minutes.
