ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government has allocated Rs 3044.157 million for the ongoing and new sports projects in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2017-18 to develop a healthy culture and promote sports activities.

According to the budgetary documents released on Friday, the government has earmarked Rs 664.157 million for the ongoing four sports schemes and Rs 2380 million for six new schemes.

An amount of Rs 495.550 million have been reserved for the construction of Sports Complex Narowal, Rs 61.607 million for establishment of bio mechanical lab at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad, Rs 92 million for holding of National Games and Rs 15 million for laying of synthetic hockey turf at Gilgit.

An amount of Rs 200 million have been specified for the replacement of synthetic hockey turfs in seven cities including Islamabad, Faisalabad, Wah Cantt, Peshawar, Quetta, Abbottabad and Lahore.

Similarly, Rs 55 million have been reserved for laying of synthetic hockey turf at Swat. While Rs 50 million have been allocated for construction boxing gymnasium at Karachi and Rs 50 million boxing gymnasium at Quetta. An amount of Rs 25 million has been earmarked for the construction of football ground at Chaman.
