GALLE, Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka will continue their first innings on the third of the first Test match against Pakistan at the Galle International Stadium on Friday.

Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first in first Test of the three-match series.

In their first innings, Sri Lanka were 178 runs for three wickets when the second day ended. Their opening batsman Jayan Kaushal Silva scored 80 runs and was still at the crease while Kumar Sangakkara made 50 runs before he got out.

Pakistan’s left-arm faster bowler Wahab Riaz took two wickets.

The first day of the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was washed out due to rain yesterday. Later it was decided that play on remaining four days would start 15 minutes before time and the middle session would be extended by another 15 minutes daily.
