KOLKATA, India: The ongoing ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2016 will have two more matches on Saturday with the second game more important as the winner if England comes out, will qualify for Semi Finals from group 1.
New Zealand will take on Bangladesh in today’s first T20 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, a game which won’t leave as much impact as Kiwis have already qualified for the next round with six points whereas the South Asian nation’s exit is already confirmed.
However as compared to the first game, the second match between England and Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on Saturday night is more important. England will go through to the Semi Finals if it wins today whereas if Sri Lanka emerges victorious, the second qualifier from group 1 will be decided in next games.
Sri Lanka will play its last match of Super 10 round against South Africa in Delhi on March 28.
West Indies and New Zealand have already confirmed their places in Semi Finals from group 1 and 2 respectively.
Earlier on Friday, Pakistan lost to Australia in Mohali by 21 runs which eventually ended green shirts’ journey in the tournament. In another match played yesterday at Nagpur, West Indies defeated South Africa by 3 wickets.
