HARARE: Like the Twenty20 series win, Pakistan will look to clinch another series in the one day international (ODI) format after they will face Zimbabwe in the second of the three-match ODI series in Harare on Saturday.
The encounter between the two teams will shortly be beginning at the Harare Sports Club as the match is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm PST.
Thanks to the brilliant performance by the Pakistani spinners which led the green shirts secure an easy victory against the Zimbabwean team on Thursday.
In the first ODI, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field first. While batting first, Pakistan scored 259 runs for six in 50 overs. For Pakistan, Muhammad Rizwan remained the top scorer with 75 runs while Imad Wasim scored 62 runs.
In reply, Zimbabwe were all out for 128 runs in 37 overs. The leg-spinner Yasir Shah took six wickets for only 29 runs whereas the off-spinner Shoaib Malik grabbed three wickets.
Yasir Shah was declared man of the match.
“I think the Zimbabwean batsmen weren’t able to read my variations when I was bowling googlies or flippers or legbreaks, and that was troubling them a lot,” Yasir Shah said adding that doesn’t think Zimbabwe’s batsmen are able to pick him.
