SHARJAH, UAE: Misbah-ul-Haq is honored to lead Pakistan in 49th Test match, most by any Pakistani Test Captain as Pakistan and West Indies are set to face each other in last encounter of three-match Test series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Pakistan will bat first in third Test match after winning the toss, and have made two changes – Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Amir were brought in for Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali.
Likewise, West Indies also replaced Shane Dowrich and Alzarri Joseph for Shai Hope and Miguel Cummins.
Pakistan has already won the three-match Test series 2-0 and if Pakistan wins the final battle, it will be its sixth series whitewash against opponents. Earlier, Pakistan completed two consecutive whitewash in T20s and ODIs over West Indies during the current UAE tour.
Today’s match brings even more joy to Captain Misbah-ul-Haq by virtue of leading Pakistan in 49th Test match. Previously, Pakistan won 24 out of 48 Test matches under the Captaincy of Misbah-ul-Haq whereas Imran Khan led Pakistan to 14 victories in same number of matches.
“Team first, it’s important to play every game better than the previous one. That’s key for us if we have to make progress as a team,” Misbah said at the toss when asked about his captaincy milestone.
