HAMILTON, New Zealand: Having become addicted with UAE wickets, Pakistani batsmen are well exposed once again in New Zealand’s windy conditions and pacy pitches as the Visiting Side lost five wickets for just 76 runs in its first innings at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Saturday.

Both the Openers Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali yet again failed to deliver in New Zealand and returned to pavilion quickly. They scored 5 and 1 runs respectively.

At Stumps, number 3 Babar Azam was still occupying the crease on 34 runs along with Wicket Keeper batsmen Sarfraz Ahmed who scored 9. In between, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq and Muhammad Rizwan lost their wickets on 2, 23 and 0.

New Zealand’s Tim Southee grabbed 3 wickets and Neil Wagner 2.

Earlier, New Zealand in its first innings scored 271 runs before being bowled out. Jeet Raval was the highest scorer with 55 runs followed by BJ Watling with unbeaten 49.

For Pakistan, Sohail Khan took 4 wickets, Imran Khan 3, Muhammad Amir 2 while 1 wicket went into Wahab Riaz’s account.Pakistan Test team - Test

Like the first Test, the first day of the second match was also badly affected by rain and only 21 overs could be bowled on Friday in which New Zealand scored 77 runs for 2.

New Zealand is already leading the two-match series 1-0 as it won the first Test against Pakistan at Hagley Oval in Christchurch by 8 wickets.
