SHARJAH: The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) continues successfully in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and two more matches are scheduled on Friday in Sharjah.

In the first match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium today, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars will meet each other whereas the second match will be played between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United.

Unlike Dubai, pitches in Sharjah are allowing the batsmen to score quiet comfortably as once again on Thursday Quetta Gladiators achieved the 118-target set by Islamabad United for the loss of only three wickets.

Except the Captain Shane Watson, no Islamabad United player left an impact with the bat and the team could only score 117 runs before it was bowled out in 19.1 overs.PTV Sports Live

Quetta Gladiators didn’t have a good start as it lost two early wickets but then two excellent partnerships helped it to win the match quiet easily.

Ahmed Shahzad with 41 runs and Sarfraz Ahmed with unbeaten 51 remained top scorers for Quetta Gladiators. However, New Zealand’s Grant Elliott who made his first appearance in the PSL yesterday claimed man of the match award for taking three wickets for Quetta Gladiators.

The win against Islamabad United further improved Quetta Gladiators’ position in the PSL points table, enabling it to uphold its first position with eight points.

But today’s games are comparatively more crucial for Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars than others, as both teams have yet won only one game each of four matches.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
