KOLKATA, India: The cricket lovers are excited to witness another thriller between Pakistan and India as the two historical arch-rivals will meet once against on Saturday night.
However, the stage is even bigger now because the match is part of ongoing ICC T20 World Cup and if Pakistan manages to beat India today at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the Host’s matches could be limited to Super 10 round only.
More than 66,000 people including VVIPs like Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavasgar, Amitabh Bachan, Sachin Tendulkar, Wasim Akram, Pakistan ambassador in New Delhi Abdul Basit would be at the stadium to support their respective sides.
Indian recent form has been much better than Pakistan and it entered the tournament as hot favourite; however, the defeat against New Zealand shattered the Indian confidence and even now the side has to play for its survival in the event.
In addition, Pakistan’s remarkable win against Bangladesh boosted the team confidence and created an ideal chance for green shirts to make a history by beating India for the first time in World Cup history.
Sources said that Pakistan is unlikely to make any changes and will keep the same combination against India which the former had against Bangladesh.
Imran Khan meets Pakistan team
Meanwhile, the former legendary cricketer Imran Khan held 20-minute meeting with the Pakistan team in Kolkata and gave the team some important tips regarding the match against India.
Imran also spent two minutes separately with Captain Shahid Afridi.
No load-shedding during Pak-India T20
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Water and Power announced that there would be no power load-shedding during Pak-India T20 World Cup Cricket match.
Earlier last night, England beat South Africa by 2 wickets in the ICC World T20 match at Mumbai.
While batting first, South Africa scored 229 run for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, England achieved the target for the loss of 8 wickets in 19.4 overs.
