The World Top-Ranked in T20Is Pakistan would take on England at Sofia Gardens in Cardiff on Sunday (May 5, 2019) for the lone T20 Internationals.

Today’s match will mark the beginning of Pakistan’s over two-month long tour to England – in official terms, which also features a five-match ODI Series and ICC Cricket World Cup.

Earlier Pakistan won three tour matches including two 50-over games against Kent and Northamptonshire respectively and one T20 against Leicestershire.

With regard to bilateral T20Is, England have an apparent dominance over Pakistan. Out of 14 T20Is between them, England grabbed triumphs in nine matches while Pakistan won four. One match at Sharjah on November 30, 2015 ended in a tie.

However in the last encounter in the shortest version of the game, Pakistan clinched a comprehensive nine-wicket victory against England at Manchester on September 7, 2016.

But again at Cardiff, England won both the previous games played against Pakistan in September 2010.

Irrespective of England’s superiority in terms of T20Is victories, it wouldn’t be an easy task for them to take over Pakistan.

It is worth noting that prior to two T20 Internationals defeats against South Africa in February 2019, Pakistan had enjoyed a winning-streak of nine T20Is.
