SportsPakistan may consider to boycott sports events in India: Minister

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Wednesday said that if India did not change its attitude towards Pakistani sports-persons then Pakistan might think to boycott all sports events in the neighbouring country.

Talking to media after chairing a Pakistan Sports Board meeting in Islamabad, he said that it was unfortunate that India deprived Pakistan juniors from featuring in Junior Hockey Word Cup, starting in Lucknow from Thursday.

He said Indian attitude towards sports had always been biased adding, “Whenever India faces defeat it starts crying.”

He said after consultation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan could take up Indian attitude towards Pakistani players with international sports organizations.

He said the government would soon devise a policy about participating in sports events in India.

Pirzada said that he had invited Indian Parliamentarians for cricket match with their Pakistani counterparts under good faith.

He said he believed cricket diplomacy could help improve ties between the two countries.
