LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan Cricket Team would donate Rs 3.2 million to the dams fund set up by the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Prime Minister Imran Khan for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams, said Pakistan Cricket Captain Sarfraz Ahmad.

“All the team member expressed their solidarity towards a noble cause initiated by Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising funds for building new dams to address water issue in the Country,” Sarfraz Ahmed said while talking to media at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Monday.

Sarfraz Ahmed said Pakistan Cricket Squad taking part in the Asia Cup 2018 comprised 16 players, and each player would donate Rs 200,000 and an amount of Rs 3.2 million would be donated.

“We are confident that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be able to build these dams to overcome water crisis which will be looming at our Country in years to come,” said the home captain.

Sarfraz Ahmed it was a heartening sign that people were taking keen interest in donating money in CM-PM Dams Fund, and everyone was doing that in the love of their Country and to ensure a better tomorrow of Pakistan.

“We are confident that Allah Almighty will give success to our Prime Minister in this noble cause and required amount will be gathered to undertake the project of dams,” said Sarfraz.

Pakistan Cricket Captain said construction of new dams would have adequate reservoir of water aims at securing the future of coming generations of Pakistan.

Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
