DHAKA, Bangladesh: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in the second Test match at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday by an innings and 8 runs, winning the two-match Test series 2-0.

Pakistan’s off-spinner Sajid Khan picked up 12 wickets in the match for conceding 128 runs.

Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 76 for 7, and eventually was bowled out for 87 runs and enforced a follow-on.

In the first innings, Sajid Khan took 8 wickets for 42.

In their second innings, Bangladesh again struggled early on and had lost 4 wickets for just 25 runs. Later, three good partnerships mainly involving Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das, and Shakil Al Hasan somehow provided a chance to the Host to escape another Test defeat.

However in the end, the entire batting lineup got out on 205.

For Bangladesh, Shakil Al Hasan remained the highest scorer in the second innings with 63 runs followed by Mushfiqur Rahim 48 and Liton Das 45 runs.

From Pakistan, Sajid Khan bagged 4 wickets in the second innings while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali took 2 wickets each.

The Captain Babar Azam also picked up his maiden Test wicket.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
