LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan has announced the 18-player squad for the upcoming three-match Test series against England.

The Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim announced the Test squad in a Press Conference in Lahore on Monday.

As part of the ICC World Test Championship, the Test series between Pakistan and England will begin with the first match at Rawalpindi on December 1, 2022 followed by second Test at Multan on December 9-13, and third at Karachi on December 17-21.

The injured Shaheen Shah Afridi has been left out of Pakistan’s squad while pacer Haris Rauf has been added into the squad.

Similarly, mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and fast bowler Mohammad Ali have been rewarded for their strong first-class performances with maiden Test call-ups.

The 24- year-old Abrar is in red-hot form in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Before the start of the last round on November 20, he had claimed 43 wickets at an average of 21.95.

Mohammad Ali has been the best fast bowler in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in the last two editions, taking 56 wickets. His 24 wickets including two five wicket hauls at 25.54 in six matches are the most for any fast bowler this first-class season.
