Finally New Zealand managed to break the shackles against India at Hamilton on January 31 after five straight losses.
Even no one would have thought about vigorous Indian batting lineup to be bowled out for just 92 runs. But it happened, courtesy Trent Boult’s fifer.
It was India’s second ODI defeat this year as it had previously succeeded on five occasions out of six in 2019.
New Zealand though has already lost the series, and any result of the final ODI won’t alter the destiny of the series. But another victory against 2nd ranked India will surely give the Host a boost before the T20 series.
The last ODI between them will begin at 07:30 am Indian Standard Time (IST) at Wellington on Sunday.

MS Dhoni is very much likely to return to the side for the fifth ODI. He didn’t feature in the third and fourth ODIs after suffering a hamstring injury.
However injury of New Zealand’s opening batsman Martin Guptill has caused his ouster from the final ODI. Therefore, Colin Munro seems to have availed another opportunity to play a special knock in the series.
In contrary to his previous record as a batsman with extra responsibility to lead the side as well, Rohit Sharma could not mesmerize the audience with blistering batting display in the fourth ODI.
Prior to that, he not only held an outstanding batting average of 106.80 in eight ODIs, in which he led India, but his win ratio also was 87.5 percent.
