BAHAWALPUR, Pakistan: The 15th Edition of Cholistan Jeep Rally – Pakistan’s biggest motor sports event covering 500 kilometers – will take place in the majestic desert of Cholistan from February 13 to 16, 2020.

Organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), the Cholistan Jeep Rally 2020 will cover three districts of Punjab including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur.

More than 100 racers from all over Pakistan will challenge the sand of the Cholistan in different Categories.

The rally has been divided into three different Categories – Stock, Prepared and Women Category. Stock and Prepared Categories have further been divided into 4 Categories (A, B, C & D).

The rally route has been extended to 500 kilometers in the Cholistan Desert and also includes major forts of the desert (Dingarh Fort, Marrot Fort, Khan Garh, Bhijnot Fort, Moujgarh Fort and Jamgarh Fort).

Introduced in 2005, the purpose to hold the Cholistan Jeep Rally in the glorious backdrop of Cholistan desert is to show the outside world its history and rich culture, and open this area as a winter tourist destination.

The Cholistan Desert Rally has become the largest motor sport event in all of Pakistan, in which many racers known countrywide as well as internationally come to participate.

The TDCP also makes extended arrangements by setting up a tourists’ village, food street, and series of festivities during the event.

The Cholistan Desert Rally brings economic opportunities for the locals and serves as a platform to promote the message of inter-provincial harmony year by year.

Over the course of 14 years, the Cholistan Desert Rally has become a phenomenon apart from the being the largest motor sport rally ever to be held in this Country. It has also become a massive cultural event attracting the people from all over the Country along with foreigners.

The last year’s rally was one of the grandest rallies held to date with the highest number of participants ever.
