Two former winners of ICC Champions Trophy Champions Australia and New Zealand will take on each other in a likely thriller at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on Friday.

Having services of some exceptional players like David Warner, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Kane Williamson among others, both the group A teams will feature in the second encounter of the event began on Thursday.

Earlier in the first match of the ICC main event, Host England bagged a comfortable win by defeating Bangladesh by 8 wickets at The Oval on Thursday.

While batting first, Bangladesh scored 305 runs for 5 in 50 overs with Tamim Iqbal’s 128 runs innings, recording his second Century against England and overall ninth. Liam Plunkett took 4 wickets for 59.

But strongly batting lineup of England felt no uphill task at all and reached the target in 47.2 over with the loss of only two wickets. Joe Root scored unbeaten 133 runs whereas Alex Hales fell short of just 5 runs to reach his sixth ODI Century.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
