LAHORE, Pakistan: The Australian Men’s Cricket Team will tour Pakistan next year after a 24-year hiatus for three Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and one T20 International.

In a statement on Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia will be played at three different venues including Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

However, three ODIs and only T20I will be held at Lahore.

The PCB said that the first Test between Pakistan and Australia will be played from March 3-7, 2021 at National Stadium Karachi, the second Test from March 12-16 at Pindi Cricket Stadium, and the third Test from March 21-25 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Similarly, the three ODIs will take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on March 29, 31, and April 2 while the only T20I will be held at the same venue on April 5.

Australia Tour to Pakistan 2022:

March 3-7: First Test, Karachi

March 12-16: Second Test, Rawalpindi

March 21-25: Third Test, Lahore

March 29: First ODI, Lahore

March 31: Second ODI, Lahore

April 2: Third ODI, Lahore

The Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja said, “I am delighted to welcome Australia to Pakistan. From a personal point of view, it pleases me no end that we’ll be engaged in a three-Test match series, connoisseurs delight”.

“Likewise, it will be a great opportunity for the Australia cricketers to not only play at our iconic venues but also feel and enjoy the respect, love, and hospitality that this great country offers, something which most of their previous generation of cricketers missed out by playing offshore.”

The Australian Cricket Team last toured Pakistan in 1998 for three Test matches and three ODIs. The visitors sealed the Test series 1-0 and the ODI series 3-0 against Pakistan.
