DUBAI: The final of the first edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday night.
The all-important match will be watched by over 25,000 people at the stadium as tickets for the final of HBL PSL have already been sold out completely. Whereas millions of people are expected to watch it on their televisions or on YouTube.
No one would have thought when the event commenced that Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United would be in the final. But it came out as reality.
It is expected to be a thriller as both teams have been playing some excellent cricket for quite some time. Quetta Gladiators had a better position on the HBL points table as compared to Islamabad United. In addition, Quetta beat Islamabad in both matches, they met in the first round.
Islamabad United, on the other hand, have won their last four games consecutively and reached the final after beating Peshawar Zalmi, the top team on the points table.
However Islamabad United is having some fitness issues. Its Rumman Raees and Saeed Ajmal have suffered injuries and not fit to play the final. But Luke Wright of Quetta Gladiators is back for his side after being unable to play last two games.
Moreover, among the best performers of the tournament are included in both teams such as Sharjeel Khan, Muhammad Nawaz and Andre Russell.
Though the most favourite team in the HBL PSL Peshawar Zalmi is out of the competition after it lost to Islamabad United on February 21 but its Captain Shahid Afridi has expressed his best wishes for both the teams and announced to be at Dubai to watch the final.
My best wishes with Isb & Quetta for the Finals.I request all my Zalmi fans to be there at the finals.I Will be there to support both teams!
