HYDERABAD, Pakistan: The United States has said that it aims to improve the living standard of Pakistani people in the field of health and education as well as power sector as the courtiers enjoy strong relations.

Talking to media persons at a reception hosted by the management of Hyderabad Press Club on Wednesday, the US Consul General at Karachi Brian Heath that the US is helping the Pakistani government in this regard under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program.

Brian Heath said that both the countries are enjoying strong relations and it is the reason that his government is extending full support to Pakistani government.

The US consul general said that his country fully desired to have better communications with the people of Pakistan and under the USAID Programme various projects have been launched in health, education and power sectors so that the common people of the country could be able to improve their living standard.

While expressing gratitude over the hospitality of the people of Sindh, Brian Heath said that it was his second visit to Hyderabad aimed at to listen the thoughts of the people directly and communicate the policies of programme of his government for the betterment of Pakistan.

The people of Sindh possessed creative minds with soft hearts and active physics, he said and informed that he has visited Isra University Hyderabad where the three years project has been started to grant USA scholarship to students and teachers of the university.

Brian Heath informed that the US Consulate has developed its website in Sindhi after English and URDU languages aimed at to communicate the efforts of his government for the betterment of the people of Pakistan.

The US envoyl that an independent media is necessary for strengthening of democracy and in this regard, the US government had launched a programme of the visit of journalists delegation of Pakistan.

The programme is being carried out successfully and priority is being given to the journalists of rural parts of the country, he added.
