ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A total of Rs 17.747620 billion Zakat has been collected from across the Country during the last three years, official sources revealed.

According to data collected from various Banks situated at four provinces including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in the last three financial years.

From Punjab, a total of Rs 2.5489 billion Zakat has been collected in 2014-15, Rs 2.8798 billion collected in 2015-16, Rs4.386 billion in 2016-17.

From Sindh, a sum of Rs 1.536 billion Zakat had been collected during 2014-15 and Rs 1.194 billion has been collected in 2016-17.

From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a sum of  Rs 610.41 million Zakat had been collected in 2014-15, Rs 690.38 million in 2015-16, and Rs 970.30 million in 2016-17.

From Balochistan as many as Rs 220.71 million during 2014-15, Rs 250.65million has been collected in 2015-16 and Rs 350.9792 million has been collected during 2016-17.

Likewise, a total of Rs 110.76 million Zakat had been collected from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) areas during financial year 2014-15, Followed by Rs 130.28 million in FY 2015-16 and Rs 180.63 million in FY 2016-17.

Rs 60.22 million Zakat had been collected from Gilgit-Baltistan during the financial year 2014-15, Rs 70.80 million in 2015-16 and Rs 90.84 million in 2016-17.

A sum of Rs 150.483 million Zakat had been collected from FATA during Financial Year 2014-15, Rs 170.493 million in 2015-16, and Rs 240.54 million Zakat has been collected during 2016-17.
