Social234 killed due to rain-related incident across the country: NDMA

ISLAMABAD: As many as 234 persons have been killed and 1, 129 others have sustained injuries due to rains and floods during the monsoon season this year, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in its latest data on Monday.

The authority said that 88 have been killed in Punjab, 24 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‚ 47 in Sindh‚ 27 Balochistan‚ 31 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 15 in FATA.

Moreover, 23, 811 houses have completely been damaged‚ while 55, 397 houses were damaged partially during the rains and floods.

The NDMA has so far provided 57, 884 tents‚ over 1, 26, 000 food packs‚ 17, 187 blankets‚ 31, 250 mosquito-nets and 63 de-watering pumps.
