Social01 dead, 593 injured in 496 road traffic accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 496 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 4 lives were lost and 398 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 195 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on Monday, 171 drivers, 10 Underage Drivers, 65 pedestrians and 361 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 135 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 173 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 44 RTAs in Faisalabad with 46 victims and Multan remained at third position with 37 RTAs and 41 victims.

The details further show that total 597 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 478 males and 119 females, while age group of the victims show that 85 were under 18 year of age, 355 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 167 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 386 motorbikes, 49 auto rickshaws, 44 motorcars, 20 vans, 7 passenger buses, 7 trucks and 71 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
