ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Islamabad on Tuesday for sighting of Shawwal-Ul-Mukarram Crescent.

If the Shawwal Moon is sighted on April 09, Eidul Fitr will be celebrated throughout the Country on Wednesday.

The Chairman of the Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.

Members from various institutions including Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), and The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission will also participate in the meeting.

Zonal members from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar will also contribute to the deliberations.

Emphasizing the importance of public involvement, Maulana Azad has encouraged citizens to actively engage in moon sighting efforts for Shawwal-ul-Mukarram.

Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the sighting of the Shawwal Moon is likely on April 09.

The PMD Officials said that the birth of the ShawwalMoon is expected to emerge on the night of April 08 at 11:21 pm local time.

By April 09, the moon’s age is expected to range between 19 to 20 hours, with an anticipated duration of moon sighting after sunset of more than 50 minutes on the horizon.

Clear skies are forecasted for most locations across the southern regions of the Country including Karachi on April 09. However, northern areas may experience cloudy conditions during the moon sighting.
