ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Senate of Pakistan on Monday unanimously passed a resolution recommending the federal government to celebrate 7th September officially and declare it as a public holiday.

The resolution was moved by the Jamiat Uleme-e-Islam Fazl’s (JUI-F) Senator Atta Ur Rehman in the House.

The resolutaion said that the Parliament of Pakistan unanimously declared Qadianis as a non-Muslims minority on September 7, 1974.

It noted that indeed that day was historical not just for Pakistan but for the entire Muslim world as the long sustained struggle of the Muslims ultimately became successful.

Realizing that it is imperative to highlight and remember the historical moments, the Senate; therefore, recommended to the government that the day (September 7) may be celebrated officially and be declared as a national holiday.
