The security forces conducted a Joint Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Shaka area of Khyber district on November 07, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a statement on Tuesday, the ISPR said that during the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists.

   

Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. Resultantly, terrorist Liaquat Ali alias Shaheen, an important terrorist commander, was killed. The killed terrorist was also propagated as a ‘Missing Person’.

The ISPR said that a large number of weapon and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorist.

The killed terrorist remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces, target killing and extortion.

However, the ISPR added, as a result of intense fire from terrorists, the 28-year-old Sepoy from Swabi Saleem Khan embraced martyrdom having fought gallantly.

The ISPR said that the sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

It said that Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
