ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday directed the federal government to hold local bodies elections in cantonment boards at the earliest, adding that no further delay will be tolerated in this regard.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani was hearing the case pertaining to local bodies polls in cantonment boards on Thursday.

The court in its remarks said that no further delay will be tolerated in this regard. Later‚ the hearing was adjourned till February 20.
