Sindh witnesses protests, partial strike after former JSQM chief’s brother found dead

NAUSHERO FEROZE: A strike was observed in several areas in Sindh after two dead bodies, identified as former Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) chief Basheer Khan Qureshi’s brother Maqsood Ahmed Qureshi and his associate, were found dead inside a burned vehicle near Bhirya road in Bhirya area of Naushero Feroze district on Friday.

Subsequently, a partial strike was observed in Nausherao Feroze, Khairpur, Larakana, Kandhkot, Jaccobabad, Jamshoro and other areas of the province as shopkeepers, markets and businesses shut down in protest.

Moreover, a large number of JSQM activists staged protests on the National Highway near Karachi blocking the flow of traffic on the main highway.

The protestors also damaged public and private property including eight vehicles as well set fire to a police mobile and a medical college bus in various areas.
