PESHAWAR: The Deputy Commissioner Peshawar on Friday imposed section 144 in the city banning distribution and display of provocative pamphlets, literature and wall chalking in the wake of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The ban will come into force forthwith and shall remain enforce for 30 days with immediate effect. Anyone found violating this order shall be proceeded against under section 188 PPC.

Moreover, the ban has also been imposed on use of tinted glasses on private and public vehicles, display /carriage of weapons, printing/circulation of objectionable materials, sale and use of fire crackers during Muharram, opening of shops dealing in acids and sale of acids, sale of diesel/petrol/kerosene oil and other fuels in shops or in open areas and use of loudspeakers other than for “Aazaan and Khutbas” on Friday.
